4.1 - DB-Monitor

DBMonitor is a Windows Service that runs in the background.  It monitors and manages the general health of your SchoolLeader database and data.

There is nothing you need to do to execute or start this process.  It is always running.  However, you should periodically check to ensure this service is running correctly.  DBMonitor maintains a log of all it's activity so you can quickly determine if there are any problems.  To view this log good to the Windows Event Viewer and open the Log titled "SchoolLeader Log".  If you do not know how to do that follow these steps:

- Click START button

- Select CONTROL PANEL from menu

- Select ADMINISTRATIVE TOOLS from listed options

- Select EVENT VIEWER from listed options

- Scroll through list of Logs on left hand pane.  You may need to expand some options by clicking on the Plus sign (+).  The SchoolLeader Log will display informational messages, warning, and errors.  Ideally you want to see nothing but "Information" messages as shown in the example below.  Seeing these messages logged regularly will indicate the process is running properly.

Each of these processes also generates reports to detail the results.  To view the reports go to the DB-Support tool and view the Database Backup function.  In there you will find a grid which lists all recent reports.  You can click on these entries to view the details.
