Grid windows are used extensively throughout SchoolLeader. For this reason, it is important that you understand how to use them. First, you should be able to recognize the difference between a "read only" grid and a "Data Entry" grid. Data Entry grids allow you to add entries to the list, while read only grids are purely for display purposes. The easiest way to recognize a data entry grid is by the gray control bar along the left hand margin. This control bar is how you interact with the grid to add, change, and delete rows.
To add a row, go down to the last row where you see an asterisk (star) in the left margin. Start typing your data here. The star will automatically change to a pencil to indicate you are adding information. When you are done typing, click off the row to save the data. The pencil will change back to a star.
To change data in a row, tab over to the column you wish to change (if there is more then one column) and begin typing or deleting text. Just like when adding data, simply click off the row to save the changes
To delete an entire row, click on the left hand margin 'gray box' of the row you want to delete. The entire row will become 'highlighted'. Now press the Delete key on your keyboard. The row is deleted.
