SafePASS is a perimeter security system that is fully integrated into SchoolLeader's FrontDesk Manager and CheckPoint Station systems providing you a seamless solution for your management needs. With SafePASS, you can reliably control physical access to your building using safe and secure biometric finger scanning technology. These smart SafePASS scanners are miniature biometric computers which have the power to scan a finger and communicate with your SchoolLeader database instantly to grant or deny access based on rules you have previously defined in the SafePASS Controller as well as the Identification tab of the Guardian Folder and Employee Folders
How does it work?
SafePASS utilize a state-of-the-art microchip technology that allows fingerprints to be scanned below the surface of the skin to the live layer of the finger without taking a visual image. As a result, SafePASS is not affected by common surface conditions such as dry, worn, scarred, dirty or oily skin that can affect other sensors. It is capable of scanning anyones finger under virtually any condition resulting in reliable and fast identification.
Also, as a result of this technology, there's no need to store any "picture" of your finger in our database. SafePASS simply takes a few key measurements of your finger and your fingerprint swirls to uniquely identify you. Although this small "template" data is meaningless to anyone else, it allows SafePASS to quickly identify you from others in the database. This makes SafePASS safe, secure, and the fastest method of finger scanning available.
How do I set it up at my door?
Setting up a SafePASS system is easy. Each Series 3000 biometric finger scanner (shown at right) is powered by a low voltage power source and is made of a water resistant polycarbonate case with a seamless keypad membrane. This means the unit can safely be exposed to moisture and temperature extremes so it can be used indoors or outdoors.
Each SafePASS scanner has the built-in ability to control an electronic door latch (not included) so there's no need for separate Door Controller devices. Simply wire the door latch directly to the SafePASS scanner and your done with the door setup.
Also, since these scanners are truly small computers, they communicate over your existing standard ethernet computer network. Connecting a SafePASS scanner with your SchoolLeader system couldn't be easier. Just run standard ethernet cable from each scanner to your computer networks "hub" and SafePass can quickly and easily communicate with your main SchoolLeader computers. All the communication and control software is built right into SchoolLeader. No need to purchase or install anything more.
Can I use it for controlling my inside CheckPoint Station?
Yes, in addition to using the Series 3000 to control access to your outside doors, you can also use our Series 2600 desktop scanners to enable your CheckPoint Station with biometrics.
This small desktop scanner connects directly to your PC using a standard USB plug (the same as your keyboard and mouse). You can use this 2600 scanner to eliminate the need for PINS to authenticate your users at the CheckPoint station. Instead, they can be identified in the same way they gained access to the front door. It's also a great way to stop "buddy clocking" by employees since there's no way to "fake" your biometric identity.
These simple Series 2600 scanners are also used for setting up convenient (optional) registration stations. A Series 3000 can still be used as your registration station, however, adding a desktop scanner at your front desk makes it more convenient for your staff to quickly register the finger of a new parent or employee without needing to go to the front door..
