SchoolLeader has three options you can use to allow users to identify and authenticate themselves at CheckPoint Station.
Name and PIN
PIN Only
Biometric Authentication
NAME AND PIN: If you select the NAME AND PIN option from the CheckPoint Options window, then the screen shown below will display after you press either the GUARDIANS or TEACHERS button on the WELCOME SCREEN.
The screen will display two different types of name lists depending on the button pressed.
If the GUARDIANS button was pressed then the list will contain all Guardians who are identified as Permitted to Pickup at least one student that is currently Active based on their start Date.
Rule: This second screen will only be displayed if the Names Selection feature is turned on in the CheckPoint Options window. Every user will have to first select their name from this screen shown above and then proceed to enter their Personal ID Number (PIN) to authenticate themselves
These buttons run down the left and right side of the screen and represent the first letter of the last names. Click on the letter to position the list to the names that begin with that letter. Continue to click on that letter until the desired name is displayed. If your name does not appear on the first click of the letter button, continue pressing the letter button until you see the portion of the list that contains your name.
Once you see your name, select it, and the Personal ID Number box will appear allowing you to authenticate yourself by entering your predefined PIN.
As you press the keys corresponding to your PIN, the box at the top will react by displaying asterisks rather than the keys you pressed. This will give you confirmation that your key presses are being accepted, without displaying the actual number pressed. Once done, press the OK button. If you need to start again press the CANCEL button.
PIN Only: If you select the PIN Only option from the CheckPoint Options window, the previous name screen will be bypassed and the PIN window will immediately be displayed. PIN ONLY avoids the need to identify yourself from a list, however, the disadvantage to PIN ONLY is that everyone must have a unique PIN number. Users will not be able to pick their own desired number
Biometrics: If you select the Biometrics option from the CheckPoint Options window, the user will not need to identify themselves from a list or a PIN. Instead, a biometric window displays on the screen and the user simply places their finger on the scanner. In less then 2 seconds, they will be authenticated and brought directly to their signin screen.
