The Main FrontDesk Window can be thought of as your “home base” to the system. All FrontDesk functions are accessed from this window.
Closing this window will always close the entire FrontDesk Manager system. When closing this window (click on the 'X' in the upper right hand corner) you will receive a confirmation prompt to 'END SESSION?' Reply with a YES or a NO.
The window shows the following information:
Main Menu (words along the top): This top menu (FILE, EDIT, SCHOOL, etc) provides access to ALL the functionality within the FrontDesk Manager. The menu can be accessed in a "drill-down" fashion by first clicking on the main option from the menu and then clicking on subsequent options that appear after that.
Icon Toolbar (icons along the top): The more popular functions within FrontDesk Manager are represented by pictures just below the Main Menu. With a single click, you can access the most frequently used functions.
Statusbar: The status bar along the bottom of the window provides FrontDesk status. The Status Message keeps you informed of what is going on behind the scenes when SchoolLeader is carrying out one of your instructions (e.g. 'Loading Student List...Please wait.). Right now, the status is READY.
Primary Database (bottom of window): Displays which database you currently have open. This can be the Primary Database or an Archive Database.
User (bottom of window): Displays the User ID logged in at the moment. SchoolLeader tracks activity for each User ID for auditing and management purposes.
Date/Time (bottom of window): Displays the current date and time.
Primary Workspace: This is the main area in the middle of the window. All FrontDesk Manager activity will be displayed within this area.
The FrontDesk Manager logo will display in the center of the workspace area. If you do not want this logo displayed, click on EDIT in the top toolbar, and then un-check the 'Show Screen Logo' text.
