Resizing and Moving windows

SchoolLeader is a Windows based system, therefore you can easily move and resize FrontDesk folders and windows to meet your needs.

When you first install SchoolLeader, all the windows that you can open (e.g. Student Folder, Recurring Fee Table, etc.) will be displayed in their initial POSITION and SIZE designed for a 1024x768 resolution monitor.. Don't worry if you don't know what that means.  Simply remember that If you do not like the initial size and location of a window, simply reposition and resize it by following these instructions.

Resizing a Window

To resize a window, move your mouse pointer slowly to one of the four corners of that window. You will know you are in the right location because your mouse pointer will change from a horizontal or vertical ARROW to a Diagonal DOUBLE HEADED ARROW.

Note: If the arrow changes to a Horizontal or Vertical Double Headed Arrow then you are NOT in the corner. You are pointing at either the top edge or the side edge of the window.

When you're on the window corner, click and HOLD the primary mouse button. While you are holding down the mouse button move the arrow TOWARDS THE CENTER of the window. The further you move the mouse inward the smaller the window will get. To make the window larger, click on the window corner, HOLD down your mouse button, and move your mouse away from the center of the window.

Once you resize or reposition a window SchoolLeader will remember your changes and re-display the window as you have it set. If for any reason you want to reset the size and/or position of these windows back to their Default settings you can do so by selecting the RESET WINDOWS TO DEFAULT SIZE option found under the EDIT item in the main menu.

Moving a window

SchoolLeader windows work just like Microsoft windows.  To move a window, click anywhere on the window title area (in this example 'Job Types') then click and HOLD the primary mouse button. While you are holding down the mouse button move the mouse cursor in the direction you want to move the window. The window will follow you. Let go of the mouse button when you are done moving the window.
