This report can be printed in two basic formats: Summary and Detail. Both formats can be sorted and subtotaled on three different key fields: Sub-Account, Posting Date, and Guardian.
The Summary version sorted by Sub-Account (shown below) provides you with a one line total of transaction activity for each subaccount impacted. This can provide you with a quick way of analyzing the transaction flow through your A/R Subledger at the subaccount level, since each Subaccount defined in your A/R Chart of Accounts will be displayed in this report along with the amount posted during the period.
In addition to the "user defined" accounts the report will display two additional accounts. These are special SchoolLeader accounts and you have no direct control over them. For the most part you will probably only be interested in the information reported about YOUR accounts, however, the information posted to these "special" accounts can be useful in some situations and also is necessary for the reports bottom line totals to balance.
For example, the debit charges posted to the PREPAY account ($3,326 in sample report) always represents the system generated transactions which SchoolLeader creates during the BookClose process to cover outstanding charges with current "overpayments". This number will cross-check to the "PrePayment" column of the Payment Credit Analysis reports.
The detail version of the report works exactly the same except it shows you all the individual charges and credits that were posted to the subaccounts. In most cases this is not necessary but it could be useful if you were trying to explain unexpected totals from the Summary report.
