This process allows you to manage all the userids in your system. You can create new ID's, modify existing ones, or delete existing ones when they are no longer needed. To execute the process press the USERID MAINTENANCE button from the main DBSupport window.
When you first install SchoolLeader an initial User ID
is created for you to allow access to the system. The User ID is as follows:
UserID: Administrator
Password: admin
The first time you use SchoolLeader, you should change the
password to something less obvious to prevent unauthorized access in the
future.
The following window will then be displayed that is used to manage the User ID's. This window has two sections: the General section and the PERMISSIONS section.
The GENERAL section is where you can view and change the UserID and the person's name associated with that UserID. You can also "clear" the users Password in case they forget what it was.
Specifies the Logon Userid to be userid by this individual. It can be any combination of letters and numbers up to a total of 25 characters.
The Last Name of the owner of this UserID
The First Name of t he owner of this UserID
Press this button to clear the password for this UserID. Once cleared you can logon to this UserID by entering the UserID itself as the password. In other words, if the was "Mary" then the password would be "Mary" as well after it is cleared.
The owner of the Userid should change the Password to something less obvious the next time they Log on to SchoolLeader.
The PERMISSIONS section is where you will specify what "rights" that userid has for accessing the various functions in SchoolLeader.
You can set individual access rights to eight specific functions. Each Function can have one of five different permission levels. You can mix and match the Functions and Permission levels anyway you find necessary for an individual UserID. This gives you maximum flexibility for setting up your Security Model within SchoolLeader.
