Using the FrontDesk Drop-down Calendar

FrontDesk is equipped with a powerful tool that you can use for quickly viewing and selecting dates.   There are many places in FrontDesk where you will be asked to enter a date.  Wherever you see a date field, you will also see a 'down arrow' to the right of the date.  When you click on the down arrow, a full calendar is displayed for you to quickly and easily choose the date you need entered.

You can quickly enter the current date by clicking on the 'today'.

There are a few "hot spots" on the calendar's heading that will assist you when entering dates.

If you click on the 'Month' name in the heading, all months of the year will be displayed.  Now click on the month you need to enter.

If you click on the 'Year' in the heading, then an 'up and down arrow' will appear.  You can continue to click on the arrow until the year you need is displayed.

If you prefer using your keyboard to enter the dates, then you can simply type in the required date. Each "section" of the date field (Month, Day, and Year) is treated as a separate field.  The Left/Right Arrow keys on your keyboard are used to move between these sections while the Up/Down Arrow keys are used to increment and decrement the values within these sections.

For example, if you wanted to change the display date from 11/21/1999 to 10/21/2000, you can type right over the numbers, or you could use the arrow keys on your keyboard to scroll through the dates.

Often, there is a check mark to the left of the date. The check mark indicates that this date is optional.  If the check mark is 'not checked', then the date box appears 'grayed out'.

Even when the date field is 'grayed out', the current date is being displayed in the 'grayed out' date box.  You must click on the check box for a date to be active in SchoolLeader.
